We are forever changed since the last time we blogged!! On August 27th, we welcomed Harvey Jerome Liem Nguyen into the world, and from that point on, our hearts have loved like we never thought they could!! We are so happy to have him in our family and couldn’t have asked for a better baby to put up with us as we learn the ropes through this whole parenting business!! More

Back in December we had planned a trip to Angkor Wat, Cambodia, but cancelled last minute due to early pregnancy woes… so we decided to go at the next most seemingly inconvenient time…. when Lindsay’s 7 months prego!!
Here’s the highlights:
~ Technically Lindsay wasn’t even supposed to fly that late in pregnancy… she was almost 32 weeks, which is fine for most airlines (that’s why we didn’t check), but on the day of our flight, we learned that Vietnam Airlines doesn’t let pregnant women fly after 30 weeks. So the Dr. may have fibbed a little bit to on the medical statement to the airlines to help us avoid cancelling our trip… again!
~Our Tuk Tuk driver, Sophoan, was LDS. The branch President of the Siem Reap Branch organized a group of members to be Tuk Tuk drivers. This provides them with employment and is a fun way for LDS tourists to get to know a member. Win/Win! More
First ever Girls Camp in Vietnam

Planning and executing girls camp is no small undertaking even in a well organized ward/stake in the US with a plethora of creative camp-lovin minds of girls and women who have had loads of experience already with the ins and outs of camp. But to try to pull it off in 5 weeks of planning, for the first time in a tropical, extremely humid climate in the middle of the rainy/typhoon season, in a country where the church is so new that most of the young women and their leaders are converts of less than 2 years, and in a culture where most of the activities and certification requirements outlined in the camp manual aren’t very suitable for their circumstances, I’ve had an intense yet very eye-opening experience planning a meaningful camp experience that was in some ways completely different, but in other ways very similar to my own wonderful girls camp experience.

We have been MIA for a while, and now it’s time to come clean as to what we’ve been up to for the past while and somehow rationalize our excuses for being absent from the blog-o-sphere!!
Excuse #1: The day after we returned from our crazy Waterfall rappelling trip in Dalat, Lindsay started a new hobby: sleeping for about 12-14 hours/day!! It didn’t take us too long to figure out the culprit of the insane fatigue: growing a human being!!!! yay!!!! We are super stoked!!
And here’s the fun way to find out our baby’s gender with the family (thanks to Lindsay’s sister-in-law, Amber)!!

We took a fun trip to Dalat the weekend before Christmas! We’ll let the pics and videos do most of the talking!! 🙂
Our view from our hotel!! Dalat sits in a beautiful valley!!
Tiger Falls!! It doesn’t look very big in this pic for some reason, but it’s a cool place!!
Having something to say?
